We are excited to debut our new t-shirt design for
Make Music Black Hills 2020!

Local artist, David Horan, graciously created our theme for this year. We are incredibly grateful for his generosity!

With so many concerts, year-end recitals, and summer music programs canceled this year, we feel a renewed mission to keep music alive and communities connected.

Make Music Black Hills is an opportunity for cities to connect, to celebrate music, and bring the joy of the Arts to everyone! Further demonstrating the power of music to unite and uplift people, spread joy, and build community amid this challenging and unprecedented time!

The proceeds from the sale of our 2020 Make Music Black Hills t-shirts and prints will benefit our Artists Relief Fund.

With your support, we can continue to connect our community with opportunities for fantastic art and cultural events!
Thank you!

The Allied Arts would like to form an Emergency Financial Assistance Fund, with YOUR help.

Pursuing a career in the creative or cultural sector can be fraught with challenges. It's not uncommon for individuals emerging in their careers to live from paycheck to paycheck, making it difficult to establish any type of substantial financial safety net. Those who operate in the gig economy aren't guaranteed the comfort of a steady paycheck, which means their monthly income often fluctuates. These conditions can make it extremely hard for individuals in the sector to be adequately prepared when an emergency strikes.

Creative and cultural professionals, which includes artists of all disciplines, who have experienced a disruption to their income stream can request assistance from the Allied Arts once the fund is established. Awarded funds will be used to assist with necessary living expenses, such as housing, utilities, or groceries. The objective is to provide financial support in moments of crisis to those in the sector who are experiencing financial hardship.
This fund will be made possible through generous donor contributions to the Allied Arts.

With Your Help, We will be able to provide:

Arts Agencies
Recouping financial losses due to canceled events and performances in all performing arts disciplines

Individual Artists

Offsetting loss of income for teaching artists who cannot teach during this time because of canceled classes and school closures.

Losses due to conferences and gatherings that have been canceled.

Artist residencies postponed.

Funds will go towards medical expenses, lodging, clothing, food, and other vital living expenses to those impacted due to sickness or loss of work.

Families & Community Outreach

Home Stay-Creative Kits - Provide school-aged students and Seniors art kits to help students in their development of artistic skills and Seniors the ability to create.

Give them useful tools for self-expression and build real-life skills for future artwork careers.

Kits will be distributed free of charge to families in need or wanting creative outlets.

We are starting with a $500 gift to kickstart this fund!
