Dear Partnerschools community,
In support of the public outcry that points out the racism and hatred in our country, we affirm our mission to support schools lacking resources and to bring children together to embrace their similarities as well as their differences!
At Partnerschools, we plant the seed of celebrating diversity at an early age.
Between COVID-19 and the unrest in our country, we feel that this work is more important than ever. Given all uncertainties regarding next school year, we keep creatively curating activities to connect children and communities by:
- collaborating with poets and Purple Songs Can Fly to write our own songs (virtual, if needed)
- collaborating with Ars Lyrica Houston to record stories and music in multiple languages
- having joint field trips to the courthouse and sing the national anthem (outside, if needed)
- sponsoring an Eagle Scout who is making music lesson videos on our behalf
- creating a committee of rising 8th graders of 5 participating middle schools to jointly to curate a community leadership award
- working on a creative collaboration with Baylor medical students
- continuing to have actual or virtual meetings to further our mission
