Worship this week

We will be back to our 'regular' online worship this week.  We know some did not get the Facebook feed last week and we apologize. A technical glitch had it post incorrectly. Hopefully you were able to see it online later if you wanted. We know what happened and will check that it does not do it again.

Our worship instructions are back to normal as well. Rather than resend worship instructions each week, I will refer you to the website because changes can and do happen right up to worship time. The website can be changed in minutes if needed to update links or passwords. You can find all the information at https://flcsm.org/onlineworship/ and more complete instructions at https://flcsm.org/worshipaccess/

The worship book now has a permanent address so you can find it easily and there will be fewer chances for errors. It will be at http:// http://flcsm.org/next-sunday-worship-book/ . You might find a placeholder file there during the week. It will be posted by Saturday at the latest.  (There may be changes in prayers and other small items, but the link should remain the same. If there are any major changes, which we do not anticipate, we would send another email on Sunday.) IF YOU GO there on Saturday and Sunday and find last weeks file you need to fully refresh your browser because your computer is reading its cached version. If that does not work try getting the file from the link on the worship page.

Our readings this week are:

Exodus 19:2-8a
Psalm 100
Romans 5:1-8
Matthew 9:35-10:8, (9-23).

You can read them here:  https://lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu//texts.php?id=146
Now that we are past Trinity Sunday, there are two Old Testament reading and Psalm options listed. We use the ones listed second on that website.

Our hymns are:
Gather Us In (ELW 532)
Will You Come and Follow Me: The Summons (ELW 798)
Rise Up, O Saints of God! (ELW 669)

Living Lutheran

The June/July issue of Living Lutheran is out. We have put them in a box on the benches near the main doors to the church building. You can also find it online at http://pubs.royle.com/publication/?i=659394&pre=1 or by visiting https://www.livinglutheran.org/ where you can find a great deal of content that is not in the print magazine.
Commemoration of the Emanuel 9
Prayer Service on the 5th Anniversary of their Martyrdom

An ELCA Prayer Service for Commemoration of the Emanuel Nine will be available June 17, the fifth anniversary of the evening nine people were shot and killed by a white supremacist during a Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C. The shooter was raised in an ELCA congregation.

The service will include leaders from around the ELCA and ecumenical partners, including episcopal leadership from the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton will preach the sermon. We join in a time of repentance, mourning and prayer as we remember these nine martyrs and renounce the sins of racism and white supremacy. The service can be viewed on this web page.

The Southwestern Texas Synod will be gathering online for the prayer service and and then following the service have time for conversation.

The service will be on Zoom. The synod requests you register in advance so they can open enough rooms. The link to register is https://www.eventbrite.com/e/prayer-service-commemorating-emanuel-9-tickets-109016072006?aff=efbeventtix&fbclid=IwAR0RRntPI4rus5mJdEIf80CTzFOP6RP6-rSfy8-5HfLi7r3e7uy9YmI7V6U . It will talk about 'purchase' but the event is free and you won't need to input any card information or anything like that.
