We're gradually reopening some of the gardens you have been missing, always in line with current government advice.
 
Each garden will have its own specific terms, maybe different opening time, admission or booking arrangements or limitations on numbers or facilities, so please check their website before you make a visit.

We are happy that Muncaster Castle’s gardens are now open from 10.30am to 5pm each day. Please buy your tickets online before arriving. There are limited tickets available each day to ensure you can enjoy the beautiful gardens comfortably and safely. Check their website for details about which facilities are available.

The gardens at Hutton-in-the-Forest are open Sunday – Friday, 1pm – 4pm and looking wonderful – in particular the delphiniums in the Walled Garden and the meconopsis (himalayan blue poppies) in the Pump Bed. The roses will bloom any day now, the house martins have nested and are rearing their chicks, and there are a million tadpoles in the beck.

At this time entry is only £5, payable in cash into the honesty box at the gate. Accompanied children, free
The National Trust have opened the garden and parkland at Sizergh Castle. You’ll need to book tickets before you visit. National Trust members can book for free, while non-members will need to pay when booking. They'll be releasing tickets every Friday.

They're looking forward to welcoming you back – but please note due to the expected demand for admission they’ll be turning people away who arrive and haven't booked.
We are delighted to announce that Levens Hall Gardens and Gift Shop will reopen at 10am on Monday 15 June. Where possible, they ask that you purchase tickets online in advance. Purchases in the Gift Shop should be made by contactless payment.

They are looking forward to welcoming you, and in order to keep everyone safe, they have made some necessary changes to their opening arrangements. Check before you visit – and be assured of a warm welcome.
It’s the moment everyone at Holker Hall has been waiting for - Wednesday 17 June. That’s the day Holker Gardens and Gift Shop will once again be open – with a simple take-away service available from the café offering hot & cold drinks, home-made scones, a selection of tray bakes and freshly made sandwiches. Tickets are available on their website and they ask that where possible, you book these in advance of your visit.

We've just heard that the Dalemain Gardens also have plans to re-open - on Monday 6 July. It will be the perfect time to see their collection of hundreds of old-fashioned roses. The gardens will open Monday - Thursday, 10am - 4pm, with strict social distancing measures in place. The team at Dalemain can't wait to welcome you back.

Rydal Mount are happy to welcome visitors back to the gardens planned and tended by William Wordsworth himself - just at weekends for now. Every Saturday and Sunday the gardens are open from 11am - 4pm.  Please book your tickets online.

Sadly, many attractions are still unable to open, but they’re working hard to open as soon as possible andin a way that they can make your visit completely safe and enjoyable. In the meantime,  you could start planning by downloading a copy of our free Guide and enjoy researching a future visit.
