Dear Friends:

Greetings. I'm writing at a sad and tense time here in the Twin Cities, which have become the epicenter of international protests relating to the death of George Floyd. I like writing and talking about Nightfall, my last book. But not like this. Not for this reason.

When I released Nightfall, two years ago, the idea of violent protests being incited by outside groups, with police shootings as a pretext, seemed far-fetched to some. I was not so sure. To me, it seemed that reforms to address police misconduct were urgently needed, and that seething anger in our cities presented a dangerous opportunity to those who might cynically manipulate it. Tragically, at least part of this scenario seems to have come to pass. Read my blog post here:

Introducing Deadfall!

In much happier news, may I present the cover and description for Deadfall, my newest book, scheduled for September release. It's the result of two years of work, with the help of many of you readers, but definitely a labor of love, which I hope all of you will enjoy. So, without further ado . . .

Ta-da!

Undercover.  Alone.  Hunted . . . and Paraplegic.
Another Day at the Office for Pen Wilkinson.

Paraplegic young attorney Pen Wilkinson is unemployed and recovering from violent trauma when the FBI and police offer her an intriguing but risky assignment: working undercover at a defense contractor to investigate a young woman's murder. As Pen, under a false identity, probes the company's inner workings, she discovers infiltration by a foreign espionage ring, engaged in stealing top-secret defense technology for rogue nations. As the company's security net closes in on her, Pen presses on, working frantically to learn the identity of the thieves, and of the young woman's killer, before she meets the same fate.

I expect to have the Deadfall ebook available for pre-order soon - stay tuned.

I Need Your Help
As with my last book, I'm looking for a group of readers who would like to read a free advance copy of Deadfall, in any format that works for you. The only thing I ask is that you'd post a brief review on Amazon when the book goes live at the beginning September (I'd tell you when to post).  That's it.  If you're interested, just let me know, and I'll put your name on the list. Details to follow!
