Remembering Janet Cameron

Our Gaelic music community lost a true gem in Ms. Janet Cameron of Boisdale, and we send our heartfelt condolences to her family and many friends at this time. Known to bring her lively spirit and great cheer to any gathering, ceilidh, or Cape Breton Fiddlers event, among many things Janet will be fondly remembered for her great love of people and music, and how much her supportive ways encouraged others on their journey. Gun robh fois shìorraidh aig ‘anam.
Am bu thoigh leibh tighinn cruinn 'son beagan do chòmhradh? Agus spòrs? Agus céilidh ged a tha sinn fad o chéile aig an àm seo?

Carson nach tig sibh ann? Cha bhi 'ga bruidhinn ach a' Ghàidhlig. Bidh fàilte ro 'n a h-uile duine.

Highland Village is hosting a weekly online Pop-up Gàidhealtachd Fridays at noon ADT. All are welcome to join in for some fun, conversation and a little céilidh though we can't be together in person. Only Gaelic will be spoken.

Féis an Eilein is busy making changes to it’s 30th anniversary Summer festival.

Due to Covid regulations and in accordance with our NS Government, we will not be hosting any public events at the Christmas Island Firehall. These cancelled events include our weekly Tuesday concerts, our in-person music lessons and our annual Féis week events.

Although we can’t see each other in person, our students are busy recording free video lessons for you in piano, guitar, fiddle and dance (more info to come) We are also working on having an artist or two, share some tunes/Gaelic songs, on our FB page each Tuesday evening throughout the Summer. Our annual 30th Féis week will also be online. Stay tuned for more info 🎶

We appreciate your support during this time.

Bu Deònach Leam Tilleadh!
