I had the privilege to "attend" the 2020 STC virtual summit, one of the representatives from the platinum-level award winning North Texas Lone Star chapter. This was the second summit I attended; the first live summit I attended was the one in Philadelphia in 2008. The overwhelming success of this year's virtual summit is a testament to the flexibility, resiliency, creativity, and adaptability that we communicators, particularly the organizers, have and continually demonstrate on a daily basis. The "richness" of the presented content was delicious. Obviously we could not "summit" together, but I thought the virtual camaraderie that would have been experienced in person transcended into the virtual space and was no less diminished. The success of this year's summit certainly set an extremely high bar and will undoubtedly be repeated next year, either physically or virtually from Atlanta.

The year 2020 will go down in history. While this year has isolated us from each other and tested us to the limits of our patience, it has also given us the opportunity to experiment with our creativity and ingenuity. The STC Summit bears testament to that sentiment.
The Virtual Summit hit the ball out of the park in every sphere. Prior to the start of the Summit, I got to network with the present, past and incoming leaders at the Leadership Event. It is amazing how technology has dissolved our physical barriers. My first experience with the breakout rooms was almost too real. Barring a few glitches, I almost felt like I was attending an in-person event.
The STC Summit itself had four tracks that were well-curated with a variety of offerings. While I tried to attend the live sessions as my schedule would allow, I am thrilled that I can go back and watch all the remaining sessions on demand. In fact, STC has opened up the OnDemand Summit to STC members via registration through 31 August 2020.
The icing on the cake was our chapter being recognized with a Platinum Award and Most Improved Community Award for 2019. Congratulations to all the volunteers and to each one of you.
This Summit had something to offer for all those who could attend. Now you can partake in that experience on your own time. Do not miss out on this great opportunity.
