There will be a Social this Thursday, June 11, starting at 5:00pm. 
Lisa Hickman will again be preparing a Barbecue Dinner this week. We will also be providing individually wrapped snack items such as nuts, cheese, chips, etc.

Win Gruening has volunteered to be Bar Host and will have a drink special to be announced in the text message on Wednesday as well as serving wine, beer and common mixed drinks.

If weather conditions permit, we hope to use the deck again.
 
Drink chips are $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00.  Dinner plate (meal ticket) is $10.00.  Prices include sales tax.  
There are obvious risks to meeting indoors for prolonged periods prior to a COVID-19 vaccine or treatment. The decision to attend is the responsibility of each individual attendee. JYC assumes no liability for possible exposure and any resultant illness. 
 
We will space tables at 6 or more feet apart and provide hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.  Food servers will wear face covering and gloves and will serve the food to you. If you are sick or you have a vulnerability, please stay home.  If you wish to wear face covering, feel free to do so.  Do not expect all attendees or bar hosts to be wearing face covering.
If you are not a Juneau Yacht Club member but are interested in joining the Club, please come to one of our Thursday evening Socials as a guest of a member or come and introduce yourself to any Board member. We will be glad to make you our guest, show you around and discuss the benefits of joining. Under our Club Liquor License, non-members are not allowed to purchase alcoholic beverages but your host may treat you and you are welcome to join us for dinner.
Last Week's Social 
The Club had another friendly and fun Social last Thursday, June 4. David Kirstien did a great job as Bar Host and Sharon Kelly handled the cash.  Lisa Hickman barbecued some great dogs and brats!  

There were a total of 20 members and guests enjoying beverages and snacks. The weather was sunny and many were able to enjoy our great deck.

Stay tuned for an announcement on the Club's 4th of July Celebration.   Plans are not finalized but we should have more information in the next Weekly Update.  If you have suggestions or would like to volunteer to help plan or set up for the event, please reply to this email.
Call for Social Cooks













GREAT THANKS!  to Lisa Hickman for doing a super job as the Social Cook last week and again this week!!

Let's give Lisa a break!  We will be returning to the Social Cook schedule for those of you willing to do it at this time.  There are a few, easily learned, requirements to safely prepare and serve food during the pandemic. Thankfully, Lisa is a fully qualified food service instructor and has offered to do a short training session for those interested.

If you are willing and able to cook for the Club, please attend the Social this week.  At 5:15pm, Lisa will demonstrate the practices necessary to safely cook for our group and we will prepare a list of people who have received the training to qualify as Social Cooks.  Thanks!
