“I always felt that something was lost from A.A. when we stopped emphasizing the morning meditation.”
-Dr. Bob and the Good Old-timers, p. 178

Covid-19 has changed the way we meet, the way we sponsor, and might now be a chance to change the way we pray.  This may be a good time to begin your day listening for “the still, quiet Voice within.” If you’ve already begun this journey, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’re new to the Two Way Prayer practice, we’re here to help you learn. Below are some resources to connect:

A Letter From Father Bill W.

We recently completed a Zoom workshop on Two Way Prayer that attracted over 450 participants from around the world. Another is scheduled soon for the folks in Australia and New Zealand and we hope you’ll help us fill the room with close to 1,000 for the US Workshop on July 25th.

Also wanted to let you know that Dr. Audrey Hai from the University of Texas recently finished her doctoral thesis testing the effectiveness of Two Way Prayer.  We tested over 200 clients in four residential treatment centers and found significant improvements among the groups doing the prayer practice. Her study is being prepared for publication and we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

I’m now finishing up my first year of podcasting. Never too old to learn some new tricks! Have had great fun doing this and we’ve had well over 13,000 listeners to date. I’ve posted a series on the Steps, on the early AA history and a recent one on Carl Jung and AA. People seem hungry for good information on AA history and the early spiritual program.  If you have ideas or would like to help, please let me know. Drop me a line at TwoWayPrayer@Gmail.com/ Would love to hear from you.

God Bless and Keep Coming Back,
-Fr. Bill W. (Class of ’72)

SAINT FRANCIS by Nikos Kazantzakis.

Let me recommend a spiritual classic that literally fell off my bookshelf recently and called out for a second read. Lovingly written by the author of Zorba the Greek, Francis is the only saint whose prayer made it into the 12&12. A fictional biography, it brings the beloved saint alive and is sure to set your soul dancing. It’s now out of print, but affordable used copies are available.

Hug It Out!

Hugging played a big part in recovery for most of us. The NY Times has a great article on safe hugging during the pandemic. Enjoy the article - and enjoy the hug!
