Bingo!

We hope that you are continuing to be all safe and well. As we all live through these challenging times we felt it was important for our WI to stay connected and sociable so we are continuing our monthly meetings and clubs online.

For June's meeting it's Bingo Night!

We'd love to see as many of our members as possible online so will send instructions on how to get your Bingo card and details of how to get onto the meeting (via Zoom) to members only nearer the time, by email and on our Facebook Group.

All clubs where possible have now moved onto Zoom calls. Meeting links and information will be sent to our members via email and will be listed in our Facebook group.

NFWI News

Big news! Our proposed resolution which was due to be voted on during the NFWI annual meeting has been accepted as one of this year’s resolutions! The official wording is:

There are tens of thousands of victims of modern slavery hiding in plain sight in the UK. Modern slavery has severe consequences for the health and mental wellbeing of survivors. The NFWI calls on the Government to protect victims of modern slavery in the first instance and deliver longer term support to help them rebuild their lives. We call on our members to raise awareness of the prevalence of modern slavery throughout society and to campaign to defeat it.

As the NFWI Annual Meeting was cancelled the two resolutions due to be discussed were not able to be debated or voted on by delegates. So the NFWI Board of Trustees decided that in these exceptional circumstances, the results of the shortlist selection process was used instead.
