Naudus_canine advocate part of 1fur1impact program in Michigan

Since the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, 1 FUR 1 Foundation's mission, to provide healthcare alternatives with the help of specially trained animals, has been in jeopardy. Most of our programs have been suspended, fundraising events have been cancelled and volunteers haven't been available. These vital resources are essential to 1 FUR 1's existence. While struggling with our new reality, we work hard on executing our 2020 strategic plan for our current programs but will NOT be able to offer any new grants to worthy programs. This is a very hard decision for us as we realize we might be the last hope for small nonprofits ran exclusively by volunteers healing people with disabilities. Like many others, we do NOT qualify for federal aid and state assistance since our cause doesn't have paid staff. We rely on generous and loving individuals to move our mission forward. Please support us and help others! We live in challenging times and now more than ever American voices need to be heard so our nation can remain to be, the land of the free. Providing healthcare is a human right, eradicating racism, saving environmental protections for lands, oceans and wildlife are the basic pillars of our society. We are stronger together then apart!

Monthly Recap

We're thrilled to report on the success of our first ever virtual workshop for Autistic children. In total, 46 people benefited from our #1fur1impac t in May delivered by 12 animals. 1 FUR 1 program partners in California and Michigan completed 3 animal related engagements and 13 animal assisted therapy sessions.
This past month Pet Partners, a leader in our field, published a white paper on Benefiting from the Power of the Human-Animal Bond When Personal Interaction Is Not Possible. This is a huge step forward in developing a national industry standards and now accounting for animal related engagements during the pandemic.

You Are Invited

As we look forward into the future with pawsitivity and create our new normal, we hope to have our first fundraiser of the year on July 25th. After checking with government agencies, we think that Stay At Home orders will be lifted and we will be able to host up to 50 persons charity event in Gardena, CA. Safety is our priority and we will require pawty goers to wear masks inside and outside as well as wipe down leashes and dogs as they enter. Most of all, we want to have fun with our doggie friends and save our healing mission. We need to raise funds so we can continue to support the health and care for all 46 working animals and their handlers across the 5 states we have active programs in. Are you ready?

We're proud of all program partners who completed 1,971 free-of-charge animal assisted therapy and activities across five states.
