Secondary STEM
Update
Welcome to the June edition of Secondary STEM Update. In this edition, you'll find information about: remote lessons from STEM Learning; European Space Agency's Climate Detectives @home; STEM Clubs Week; National Physical Laboratory's #MeasurementAtHome; Mayor of London and ASE CPD webinars and more.
Free curriculum-linked remote lessons
On the STEM Learning website, you can access a variety of free curriculum-linked science lessons for children of all ages. These lessons cover a range of topics, including evolution, forces, and the human body. Created and recorded by subject experts, remote lessons can be accessed at any time of day, making it easy to fit into your home learning schedule.

Alongside these lessons, there are also live Q&A sessions, run by teachers, giving both students and parents/carers the opportunity to ask questions and get further support.
Climate Detectives @home
Climate Detectives @home is an European Space Agency (ESA) education project for pupils aged 12 to 18. It challenges them to monitor our planet from home by looking from above, by finding an Earth observation image, describing it and linking it to a climate problem. The ESA provides information for pupils about earth observation and climate before they get started. The project would be a great basis for a CREST Award.

Access the Climate Detectives @home starter guide to get some inspiration and read carefully through the guidelines.
STEM Clubs Week 22–26 June
The theme of this year's STEM Clubs Week is sustainability. Throughout the week, STEM Learning are providing activities, challenges, webinars by STEM Club Champions and Practical Action, career talks and Q&As delivered by STEM Ambassadors via YouTube.

Each day, they will cover a different area of sustainability: clean air; water and sanitation; sustainable energy; sustainable food; and sustainable materials. Young people, educators, STEM Ambassadors, parents and carers are all welcome to participate in the programme of events.

You can follow the Week on Twitter using #STEMClubsWeek and join the events via YouTube.

National Physical Laboratory #MeasurementAtHome
The National Physical Laboratory are publishing weekly challenges that are a chance for everyone to have some fun and learn about the science of measurement. Join in, have fun and learn a bit of physics!

Follow them on social media and share pictures of your tests using the hashtag #MeasurementAtHome.
