George Floyd’s death has sparked widespread protest in the U.S. over police abuse. This roundtable will discuss the sources of police violence and what can be done to fix America’s police and make law enforcement accountable.

Tracey L. Meares is the Walton Hale Hamilton Professor and a Founding Director of the Justice Collaboratory at Yale Law School.

Tim Newburn is a Professor of Criminology and Social Policy at LSE.

Nicola Lacey is School Professor of Law, Gender and Social Policy at LSE.

Coretta Phillips is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Policy at LSE and is a member of the Mannheim Centre for Criminology.

Peter Trubowitz is Professor of International Relations and Director of the US Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Associate Fellow at Chatham House.
