40-Team Baseball Event Set To Kick Off the Summer Season at Deaconess Sports Park
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Deaconess Sports park will host the Tri-State League youth baseball event on Sunday,  June 14th and Monday, June 15th. The Tri-state League Event will bring a mix of both local and regional youth baseball teams to the Deaconess Sports Park over these two days bringing along with it approximately $125,000 of badly needed tourism economic impact to the region. “This tournament will be just the beginning of bringing tourism back to Evansville & Vanderburgh County,” said Jim Wood, President and CEO of Visit Evansville. “We are looking forward getting people back to work and welcoming visitors from around the area back to Evansville” said Wood.

After a long spring season full of anticipation, the Director of Sports Facilities at Deaconess Sports Park and Goebal Soccer Complex, Tim Fulton says, “We are excited to begin resuming operations at Deaconess Sports Park. Our staff is excited to welcome back all our sports tournaments. In preparation of their return the Sports Complex, we will have in place heightened sanitation practices and we encourage fans and players to adhere to the CDC guidelines during all events.”

This is the first of many sold out weekends at the Deaconess Sports Park. The Deaconess Sports Park is booked with tournaments from mid-June all the way through the end of August providing the region with a much-needed boost to the local economy.

“This tournament will help mark the reopening for youth and recreational sports in Evansville,” said Mayor Lloyd Winnecke. “We’re excited to bring baseball back to our community.”

Deaconess Sports Park and Goebal Soccer Complex is located 6800 North Green River Road in Evansville, Ind. The Deaconess Sports Park is an eight field complex that offers state of the art amenities for girls' fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, women's fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, men's fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, adult and co-ed softball league play, and boys' baseball for 12 & under tournaments. Goebal Soccer Complex is an eight field soccer and lacrosse facility that recently went through a $2.3 million update.

These two facilities opened in 2015 and have hosted hundreds of tournaments and have provided significant economic growth to the Evansville and Vanderburgh County community.
