Weekly Update | Friday 12th June 2020
Kia ora koutou!
For the first time in many months, this weekend will have most of us gathering in our parishes to celebrate Mass. How fitting that this takes place on the feast of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ - a day when we celebrate the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
This week our edition of Kotahitanga includes a series of resources focused on 're-emerging with purpose' to transform our communities and opportunities to learn more about what the Eucharist is.
Don't forget to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram for updated information throughout the week, and encourage others to sign up for these updates at www.pndiocese.org.nz/newsletter.

Excerpt from a Letter by Cardinal John Dew
We need to recognize that many people are still anxious about their safety and we do
not want this to be an impediment to them coming to Mass. These recent guidelines from the Bishops for our liturgical practices remain in place for the meantime:
Holy Communion - The faithful are to receive Holy Communion in the hand only, and not from the chalice. Sign of Peace - The exchange of peace can be by spoken word, by a gesture such as bowing, or by a pause for silent prayer for peace. At this stage people should not feel obliged to shake hands. Holy Water Fonts - are to remain without Holy Water. The dispensation from Sunday Mass remains in place for this weekend.
