We encourage you to visit our website over the next few weeks to learn more about our origins, mission, and ongoing projects. We will also be updating our website over the next few weeks with updated contact information for active chapters.
As discussed in the call, we are committed to anti-racism, particularly anti-Black racism, anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism, and police/military and prison abolition. We are intentionally a student and resident-led organization as we recognize and are actively trying to flip the medical hierarchy by offering a platform for students and residents to demand better of their institutions, institutions that often perpetuate racism and capitalism in both their medical education and delivery of clinical care. Our goals, initiatives and projects move far beyond performative allyship and are focused on actively organizing to dismantle white supremacy, capitalism, and racism at our institutions and communities as well as uplifting and prioritizing the needs, voices, and work of Black people.
We were founded by a group of medical students many of which are now residents which is why historically our actions and initiatives have been centered around medical students. However, we welcome all healthcare professionals who share our values of anti-racism, anti-capitalism, and abolitionism to join us in powerful solidarity.
