The QCAIR Board hopes this message finds you safe and healthy.
The last couple of months have been difficult for the country. First, a pandemic and the resulting economic crisis hit families hard. Then, events organized to highlight the inequities in civil rights in our country were marred by violence. QCAIR's organizational values include advocacy and respect and we stand by peaceful protesters during this historic, but difficult, time.
Although some people are beginning to go back to work, others are still struggling.
One of the most vulnerable populations hit by the pandemic included non-US citizens, both documented and undocumented, who did not receive stimulus checks or other benefits.
In response, the State of Illinois funded a relief program immigrants and refugees in Illinois whose households did not qualify for federal stimulus, unemployment insurance, or public benefits.
