1 July return to sport update

Yesterday, we provided an update to last week's government announcement on the return to sport for Under 18's from 1 July. The update includes further information on the conditions and requirements that need to be met for swimming to resume under this directive.

JUST IN: This morning we received notification from the Office of Sport about a new Community Sport Recovery Package, which will include one-off grants of up to $1,000 for local sporting clubs across NSW to assist them with the return to sport on 1 July. Further details regarding eligibility and the process to access this funding is still to be finalised by the government and is expected to be announced next week. We will keep you updated on this.
Don't miss your chance to be heard
The Australian Sports Foundation impact survey for community sport is closing soon. We encourage our clubs to complete the 10-minute survey before it closes next Friday (19 June). This is your opportunity to be heard about the impact of the COVID-19 shutdown on your club and what you need to recover. Find out more about the survey here.

Swim Central tips for clubs
Consolidation

Over the past two weeks, Swimming Australia has consolidated and prioritised all requests and functionality improvements for release into the system over the remainder of 2020.

If you are someone who has placed a request with Swimming NSW in the past for inclusion into Swim Central and would like an update on this, please email admin@nsw.swimming.org.au.

It should be noted that some items are seen as out of scope / not a vital addition to the structure of Swim Central and the purpose Swim Central is to serve, so it may be that the feature will not be on the list at this time.

Is your club’s account UP TO DATE?

In order for clubs to receive payments, and for their members to receive refunds where relevant, every club need to ensure the following is complete:

  • The club acquires an ABN number (easy steps to do so are found here).
  • The club lists the ABN within the Entity contact information in Swim Central.
  • The club chooses a Club Contact. This contact can be anybody on the committee (i.e. with access to the Entity on Swim Central).
  • Their first name, last name and DOB must match exactly with the Identity documents uploaded (here is how to upload the ID and correctly match everything). It is super important for clubs to read through this, because you may have attempted ID upload in the past, however it may not have been uploaded correctly.

NOW is the best time to ensure all of these details are up to date, to ensure there are no problems when swimming starts up again!
