Competitive golf is making a comeback! A more detailed update on the competition schedule will follow in a handicap members newsletter but for now:
The mens Club Championship is booked in for the weekend of the 11th-12th July. Tee times are from 10am on Saturday and 11:30am on Sunday.
The ladies Club championship is booked in for Monday 10th August from 10am
Sign up at the clubhouse, over the phone or email us to confirm your participation.
We are very happy to have our golfers back after lock down, thank you for all the compliments about the course condition over the past month.
Here is a quick reminder of the current England Golf and government guidelines and how it is affecting your on/ off course experience at Billingbear.
Booking Tee Times
Online is the preferred method of booking as we are short staffed in the clubhouse due to social distancing. It is best to look a couple of weeks ahead on the Old course.
If online isn't convenient, other options include booking and paying over the phone at 01344 869259, contactless payments will also be accepted at the clubhouse window (as usual we are a cashless facility).
You may be asked for full or partial payment at the time of booking, this is because we are experiencing a high number of 'no shows' which isn't fair on the golfers who have been turned away and is also no good from a business point of view.
On-Course Experience
Please arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your tee time. Golfers will be required to check-in at the canopy at the club house
All rakes will be removed from bunkers. Please smooth sand with your feet
No rental equipment will be available, including golf buggies, trolleys and rental clubs. No exceptions will be made at this time.
No loyalty cards accepted or stamped until further notice.
Facilities/Services
Our clubhouse will remain closed with limited access to toilets, please use the bushes when possible. We will keep our canopy window open to allow for check-in and contactless payments.
Our staff numbers will be limited in order to comply with social distancing rules so please be patient
Limited items from the pro-shop will be available upon arrival including balls, tees, drinks etc. Customers will not be allowed to enter the clubhouse to purchase but items may be distributed by a member of staff via the window in the canopy
Ball cleaners are covered up and shoe cleaners have been deactivated
Bunker rakes have been removed, please smooth out bunkers with your feet
Flagsticks will remain in the hole at all times and should not be touched by golfers.
Our resident PGA qualified teaching professionals Jack and Gregg are still available to give lessons and can help get your games back on track after the lockdown or help you develop some good fundamentals if you're just starting out.
