We're sorry we could not provide a Live Online worship experience this Sunday (June 14). A partial recording of which can be accessed below. We experienced an internet service outage at the Church that hindered our ability to broadcast. We pray that will not happen again, but if it does, we now have a back-up plan to assure our Live Online Worship will continue as scheduled . . . hopefully.

We are so thankful to WAKK 1140 AM that we continue Live Over Radio at 10:30 am. And when you're ready, Live in Person worship is happening in the 2nd floor Sanctuary at 9:00 am and 10:30 am following Virus Mitigation Protocols.

Monday’s staff devotion time recalled one of my favorite parables, The Parable of the Sower. My take on this story is somewhat different than the usual focus upon the soils. Given, soil is important – there are always thorns, weeds and stony ground along with shallow soil that render some gardens fruitless. Seeds do not do well in any of those conditions. Then there are varying degrees of soil that offer better yields. Suffice it to say, sowing seed is often chancy business. So many things must come together to bring forth fruit. One thing we can be sure of though, if the seed is not sown there is no fruit.
I am taken with the person of the sower. He/she knows ahead of time the perils of gardening. He/she fully understands every seed sown may or may not bear fruit. Nonetheless, he/she is faithful to the task – sowing seeds.
We are sowers in this God’s creation. We each have different tasks before us. we can be sure there are obstacles before us. The question before us is – do we abandon our task because we already know there are things that will hinder our actions? We have only to look to the sower in the parable for our answer. The sower did exactly what he was supposed to do. We are called to do the same. That is faithfulness!!
Anything Christian is under attack, Jesus said it would be that way. “In this world you will have trouble. But, take heart! I have overcome the world.” In a world that challenges our every thought and deed, it is easy to give up or give in to discouragement. We would do well to remember Jesus’ words and we would do well to follow the example of the sower. I suspect Jesus is looking for a few good sowers – willing hearts that are faithful to any God-given task!! Think About It…

Worship is the most important thing we do as disciples; in fact, the purpose of human life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever; and that is what worship is all about.

How Things Will Be Different Sunday
- We have implemented cleaning and disinfection practices according to the CDC guidelines.
- We will stay well under 50% capacity of the worship space (our maximum is 75 persons – an overflow room in the Fellowship Hall will be available if needed)
- 3 Services will help us maintain safe spaces: 9:00 am; 10;30 am; and Live Online at 10:30 am
- We have implemented a plan to ensure a flow of fresh air into the worship space — the air will run constantly, so if you sit near a vent it may be cold, bring a sweater or light jacket.
- We will follow physical distancing guidelines; no handshaking or hugging, sitting 6 feet apart, wearing a mask, singing softly, etc.
- We will dismiss sequentially (last row first, and so on, so that we do not form a crowd at the exits)
- Vulnerable persons, those who are symptomatic or have a fever, those who have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive in the last two weeks, or have travelled to a hot spot in the last two weeks are encouraged to worship ONLINE ONLY.
- Please make the best decision you can concerning your own health and safety – it’s OK to stay home and participate online if you are not yet ready to return.
10 Things You Should Do If You Plan to Worship Live In Person
- Take your temperature
- If you have a temp of 100 or more; If you have any shortness of breath; If you feel unwell – DO NOT ATTEND – but call you doctor, or go to the Emergency Room
- Wash your hands
- for at least 20 seconds with soap and water
- Bring a sweater or jacket
- It may be cool in the sanctuary as we will be using the air conditioner constantly to increase the flow of fresh air into the worship space
- Wear a mask
- If you forget yours, we may have some at the Church
- Bring your smart device if you want to use it as a worship aid (orders of worship will be available)
- Sanitize your hands at the door
- Use non-contact greetings
- refrain from handshaking, hugging, or touching
- Maintain proper distancing
- gracefully give others permission to say “not too close” and unless you live under the same roof, sit 6 feet apart.
- Exit carefully and in order, taking your bulletin with you and maintaining distance
- If you become symptomatic please let us know immediately

- We will not publicize your name; but this will allow us to notify others who may have been in close proximity so they can more attentively monitor their own health

Disciples Engage with God through the Sacraments
Holy Baptism & Holy Communion are the ordinary ways God gives us saving grace.
Baptism is our primary connection to Christ; through which we receive the gifts of salvation, the Holy Spirit, and rebirth as a child of God. Each time you wash your hands (and you should be washing your hands a lot these days) say aloud: I remember that I am baptized, and I am thankful.
Holy Communion is the chief way we receive grace for the forgiveness of our sins, and the power to live as God’s children. Every time you eat bread, and every time you drink from a cup, remember the Lord’s death, and pray that soon you can once again gather around his banqueting table.
