A Message for Belair Edison Business Owners
BENI continues to provide small business development, planning, facades, and other support services to the community. If you are interested in participating in any upcoming virtual events, or are in need of services and/or support please contact Angela Akes via email at angela@belair-edison.org
Belair Edison Main Street Reopening
BENI will be partnering with Baltimore Development Corporation(BDC) and the Neighborhood Design Center(NDC) on Design for Distancing: Reopening Baltimore Together, "an initiative to develop tactical design concepts for urban public space configurations that can be implemented to create safe, socially distancing patronage of small businesses in our Main Streets and commercial corridors. Through the web site https://www.designfordistancing.org, BDC & NDC will launch an RFP to seek these design concepts that meet Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's guidelines." (BDC)
Baltimore City is currently permitting retail businesses to provide curbside pick-up. Retail businesses, including but not limited to food establishments, restaurants, and shops throughout business districts.
In addition, establishments looking to participate in outdoor seating as commercial districts reopen could be eligible for the Outdoor Seating Relief Program. The purpose of the program is to shorten the permitting approval process for outdoor seating while alleviating financial burdens. Fees associated with outdoor seating applications and licenses will either be waived or rebated, depending on the fee.
For more information please email Angela Akes, via email at angela@belair-edison.org
