Welcome...

One of the hot topics on everyones lips is ‘when can I get back to the hairdresser?' and so we are delighted to be able to write to you as our 4th July Government review date approaches.

As we prepare, plan and process what change means, we thought it would help if we share what we are doing to put in place new safety measures to help stop the spread of Coronavirus when we reopen.

We also have some exciting news from one of our team members, a couple of announcements and new online consultation in the works.

Appointments…

We know lots of you can’t wait to book your post lockdown appointment. Although we are still waiting for a definite date from the Government, before making bookings, you can email bookings@hensman.co.uk for Northampton appointments, carol@hensmans.co.uk for Milton Keynes appointments.

Please include your preferred stylist’s name, an up to date contact number and an idea of the type of appointment you are looking to book for your first visit. We also have a record of all pre bookings that have been cancelled during the last 12 weeks due to Covid -19 and our regular clients.

You don’t have to do anything else once we have a date for reopening we will call to make your appointment bookings.

Online… Consulting?

In other news, we are also in the process of creating an online consultation form, once it’s ready to go we will let you all know.

Designed as a social distancing aid, our online consultation process will allow clients to have a consultation form the comfort of their own home. It will involve answering a few assessment questions, you will even be able to upload pictures of hair styles or colours that are inspiring you. Once your have completed it, a stylist will the be in contact to either ask for more information or book your appointment. This process will allow us to make sure we are fully prepared and the correct booking are made before you visit the salon.

We can’t wait to share it with you, keep an eye out for when it goes live.

So, what might your post-lockdown hair appointment at Hensmans look like?

In general terms, and of course we still await Government guidelines for re-opening and any further safety requirements, but so that you can be confident and comfortable we are sharing what a Hensmans’ appointment might feel like for the time-being.

  • We will encourage clients to bring hair style ideas on a tablet or phone and we will be offering online and virtual consultations ahead of appointments
  • Customers may be asked to wear a face mask and to use hand sanitiser gel
  • We have marked out 2m sq around each styling unit and created a one-way system allowing for safe and swift movement around the salon whilst observing social distancing.
  • The availability of in-salon refreshments will be reviewed in line with government guidelines.
  • There’ll be fewer people in the salon at any one time and appointments will be staggered to ensure social distancing.
  • Hair stylists will be wearing gloves, aprons and visors.
  • We will use the best eco-friendly PPE and customers will wear disposable gowns and biodegradable towels
  • We will introduce extended opening hours, with staff working in shifts in line with government guidelines
Whilst we are excited to be edging towards opening and seeing you again, ultimately we have your safety and care in mind, as ever it is ‘You at the heart of all we do’.

We will be in touch within the next week or two with further clarification, but in the meantime, remember you can email bookings@hensmans.co.uk

Congratulations…

We are so pleased to announce that our lovely Lauren Probert and her Partner Ed are expecting their first baby, due at the end of August.

Lauren we all know you are going to be an amazing mum and can’t wait to meet the little one.

Announcement...

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that our stylist, Lauren Gilligan has decided to leave the Hensmans Family. Therefore will not be returning when the salon reopens.  If Lauren used to do your hair do not panic when booking your next appointment we can recommend another of our wonderful stylists.

we are sure you will join us in saying Thank you for your time at Hensmans and wish her all the luck in the future.

‘Park and Patch Test’?

After so many weeks away from the salon, some allergy patch testing will be required. To put you at ease and to allow this to be a risk free process we are introducing our ‘park and patch test’ service.

This service will be available early mornings and evenings, allowing you to park near the salon where a member of the team will be waiting to apply your patch test.  In line with manufacturers guidelines this must be completed 48 hours prior to the appointment. If you require a patch test, we will arrange this with you when booking your appointment.

Finally…

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for you continued support and loyalty during these unprecedented times. The safety of our customers and our team is our top priority. If we do things the correct way from the outset, we hope we that we will start to see some normality return in time. But one thing we are sure of is that we shall all still talk about important life things during appointments we will share stories, laughs and sadnesses as we always do, and our hair ‘promise’ is that you will still look and feel great when you leave the salon. So, join us in doing it differently, safely and living a slightly different way for now.
