Dominican has much to be proud of! Check out these student, alumni, faculty and school updates
Dominican Family and Friends,
For the first time in Dominican’s history, we were unable to hold our traditional commencement ceremony. Every Dominican alum and past parent can attest to the significance of this event as it celebrates the culmination of 4 years of hard work, dedication and commitment that is required of every student who wants to earn a Dominican diploma. Our 2020 graduates are true heroes for how they handled missing out on probably the most enjoyable 9 weeks of the Dominican experience. They definitely made the best of it and even found ways to have fun by participating in zoom events, creating videos highlighting their peers, organizing drive-by parades for underclassmen birthdays, and even holding a virtual “Senior Skip Day.” Our teachers were amazing throughout the transition to online instruction as well, investing an inordinate amount of time into their virtual lesson plans to ensure our seniors will be academically prepared for their post-secondary education in the fall. Our faculty and staff members also participated in the Dominican “Adopt a Senior” Program, created by our Counseling Department. They delivered personalized gifts to every senior’s home on the last week of school to congratulate them for a job well done. One of our ‘79 alumni even highlighted our seniors’ pictures in her Silver Spring Drive storefront! We will miss this senior class dearly as they were such leaders and promoters of school spirit. Each of them made a positive difference at Dominican and have such bright futures ahead! Our intention is to celebrate our 60th Commencement in July, combining Baccalaureate Mass/Senior Dinner on July 23rd and Honors/Graduation on July 24th. Please join us in praying that we can make the 60th Commencement a reality for this incredible group of Dominican students!
Congratulations Class of 2020!
In recognition of what would have been the Class of 2020's graduation day, a video was created by Dominican senior Jenna Alberti in honor of Dominican’s Senior Class. Watch the video here.
A sign recognizing Dominican’s senior class was added to the exterior of the building.
Special thanks to Maureen Young ’79 Stalle for offering her business storefront to highlight our seniors! Check it out at Stalle Realty Group of Keller Williams: 205 E. Silver Spring Drive, Whitefish Bay.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT DOMINICAN?
SUMMER REUNIONS & GOLF OUTING UPDATE
Many of you have reached out in recent weeks inquiring about your 2020 reunions. Given the current uncertainty of what conditions might be in August, Dominican has made the difficult decision to postpone all individual class reunions to Summer of 2021.
Classes ending with 0s, 1s, 5s, and 6’s… mark your calendar to celebrate the largest gathering of alumni in our school’s history! Reunion Weekend - August 20 and 21, 2021
If conditions allow our Dominican community to gather in late summer, we still hope to hold an informal social event at school. Please watch for information in our July and August Alumni & Friends e-newsletters.
For now, the Bill Crowley Scholarship Golf Outing is still being planned for August 17, 2020, with a format adapted to what evolving guidelines will allow.
We greatly appreciate your patience as we navigate the ever-changing guidelines of the COVID-19 situation. If you have questions, or need more information, contact Alumni Manager, Julie Dlugopolski: JDlugopolski@dominicanhighschool.com or 414.332.1170 x 172.
Our wish is for healthier and safer days ahead so we can celebrate in person as a Dominican community soon.
Stay healthy, stay safe and stay in touch.
SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS NEEDED FOR 2020 ANNUAL BILL CROWLEY SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING
Save the date! The Annual Bill Crowley Scholarship Golf Outing will take place on Monday, August 17th. It may look a little different this year as we are working very closely with Ozaukee County Club to ensure the safety of our guests. But, the game will go on! We are in need of silent auction donations to make this a successful event. Items such as gift cards, golf accessories, jewelry and liquor baskets are always a huge hit. Please contact Events Manager, Lauren Cazares at LCazares@dominicanhighschool.com if you would like to donate. More information regarding event registration to follow. Stay tuned!
