The Grinch Complex: Saturday Night Live had a sketch called “Debbie Downer” about a woman who always had something negative to say about everything. It was, being a comedy show, done in jest, but this tendency to always focus on and make remarks about the negative needs to be explored. I call this cultural abnormality: “The Grinch Complex”. I choose to bring this up because this particular abnormality is something that belongs solely in the realm of Artificial Intelligence. When you have a society that is based primarily on Artificial Intelligence, and dismisses the importance of Sacred Organic Intelligence, you force all of the players in this trauma / drama to adapt to a series of false narratives within which they seek to create some type of identity. The more responsibility and personal accountability that comes with this position within this culture the more “expertise” one has to display to validate their “identity”. The paradox of this identity crisis evolves into persons having to create arguments to themselves and others that justify their “identity”. The Grinch Complex arises when someone feels compelled to appear “knowledgeable” and / or “intellectual” within a social culture that cannot produce any knowledge or intellectualizing within and related to the natural world. Consequently, the person or people resort to condemning and criticizing everything around them in a vain attempt to appear as an expert.
Within a culture based upon an in-depth relationship with the natural world, this false pretense and amoral agenda instantly appears as an abbreviation and has no validation or value to anyone at any time. This Grinch Complex is a symptom of an infected culture and its increased participation within our global communities is a sign that we need to give serious consideration to expanding our participation with the natural world. A community based on false narratives will not survive. Artificial Intelligence “experts” shoveling false narratives into the minds of the innocent cannot feed the soul.
When the lazy man’s avenue to self-improvement is to only criticize others, then the collective suffers.
