Hi Pinetree Parents, this is Ty Reaber, your PTA President for this school year. On behalf of the Pinetree PTA, I just want to thank everyone for their support of your PTA this year. This has probably been hands down one of the most hectic school years in Pinetree History. From the wind power outages, to the Tick Fire, to COVID and beyond. But what has made me so proud to be Pinetree's PTA President, is how Pinetree remained an amazing close knit family through it all. We supported our Tick Fire families, we all banded together to make distant learning a practice when it had never been one before. We are all so proud of our Pioneers and everything they accomplished this year.

For our continuing parents, I encourage you to consider joining the Pinetree PTA next year. Have a voice in what happens at your child's school, have fun working with other parents and get the awesome reward of seeing the happy smiles on our Pioneer's faces. As the first full-time working Dad PTA President at Pinetree - If I can do it, you can do it.

We have some important news for this last week of school so please read on...

2019-20 Pinetree Community School Yearbook Update
The 2019-20 Pinetree Yearbook was completed on time by the PTA and submitted to Lifetouch back in April. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Lifetouch is experiencing extreme delays and as of this morning, we still do not have an ETA. Once we get shipment information and a confirmed delivery date, we will reach out to parents who purchased one via email to arrange distribution. We are so deeply saddened by this and we apologize for the inconvenience. Stay tuned...

If you missed the order deadline and are still interested in purchasing a yearbook...
We sometimes (no guarantees!!!) receive extra yearbooks when the shipment arrives for us to sell. If you would like to purchase one of those extras, please send via email the following information to pinetreepta@pinetreepta.org:

We'll place you on the waiting list for any extras. Once we know how many extras we receive, we'll reach out to the request list in order of request date and provide a link which you can submit payment online via debit/credit (sorry, no cash or check). The cost will be $35 hardcover and $30 softcover. Once payment is made, we can then arrange distribution.

Final School Distributions

On Wednesday, June 10th and Thursday, June 11th Pinetree will have our "Good-Bye Distribution". You will be allowed to drive through the valet line to say your good byes and to pick up your AR awards, perfect attendance awards and report cards. On Wednesday from 9:00am to 10:00am we will be handing out to TK, Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade. From 10:00am to 11:00am we will hand out to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. On Thursday, these times will flip-flop, with 9:00am to 10:00am open for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Then 10:00am to 11:00am for TK, Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade.

If items are not picked up on these two days, you may come into the office from 8:00am to 2:30pm on Friday, June 12th. All report cards that are not picked up on Friday will go out in the mail and you can expect to receive them within two weeks. Unfortunately, we will be unable to mail any of the awards if not picked up.

Lastly, any families that have borrowed a Chromebook and/or an iPad will need to return it to the District Office, 27000 Weyerhaeuser Way, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please remember to bring the charging cord with the device. If you know that the device got damaged while being at home, we will have staff present to discuss ways to assist you with next steps.

Farewell to Principal Deb Stilson
Everyone here in the Pinetree PTA is deeply saddened that this was our last school year with the great Deb Stilson as our Principal. Over the past 5 years, she has been an outstanding leader to our school and an amazing support to our all Pioneers, making sure they all received the best education possible at Pinetree Community School. We will miss her as she pursues her dreams and we wish her nothing but the best. 💚💚💚💚💚

We are looking to fill some slots on the Pinetree PTA for the 2020-21 school year. Come be part of the great team. We have people available to train you so you're ready for any of the positions. Celebrations Around The World Coordinator: Oversees the planning of the annual Celebrations Around the World Event
Chili Cook-off Coordinator - Oversees the planning of the annual Chili Cook Off Event
Family Night Coordinator - Oversees the planning of our free family nights for our Pinetree families
PTA Office Coordinator - Helps make and distribute copies of the PTA Fliers to our teachers
Reflections - Oversees the planning and successful completion of the yearly PTA Reflections Art Program
Room Parent Coordinator - Helps recruit room parents for each teacher and advise on monthly deadlines.
Spiritwear - Oversees the successful Spiritwear program for Pinetree PTA including design, printing, order taking and distribution.
Yearbook Team - Oversees the Pinetree yearbook including creating a team of parents to design pages.
5th Grade Committee - Made of 5th Grade parents who plan and prepare the 6th Grade Promotion Party that happens right after the promotion ceremony.

Summer Virtual Book Fair
We're having a Summer Read-a-Palooza Virtual Book Fair! You can support our school while discovering favorite characters, series, and collections all summer long. Orders are delivered right to your doorstep and you can take advantage of FREE shipping on book-only purchases over $25. The online Book Fair will be running from May 11th through September 4th, 2020.

Facebook Profile Pic Frames
The Pinetree PTA thought it would be fun to help everyone show their Pinetree Pride on Facebook by introducing Facebook Profile Pic Frames for you to add to your existing profile picture. We created two general ones and two to show your support of our Sixth Graders this year that are moving on from Pinetree to Sierra Vista this year. You can even setup up the frames to be active for a certain period of time at which Facebook will change your picture back to your existing Facebook profile picture automatically. There are two ways you can add them, one is visit our Pinetree PTA Facebook Page (link at button below) and you can click the "Try It" button under the frame you like as they are each posted on our wall. How do I find Pinetree's profile pic frames on Facebook?

Go to your profile on the Facebook app and tap "Edit" on your profile picture. Then tap "Add Frame". Search Pinetree and you'll see them all listed. Click the one you would like and choose apply.

2019-20 Pinetree PTA Honorary Service Awards
Each year, the Pinetree PTA has the honor of selecting those who go above and beyond for not only the Pinetree PTA, but our school and our Pioneers with a PTA Honorary Service Award. Normally we honor them after our May PTA Meeting in a beautiful evening where friends and family are invited. Because we are still not allowed to gather, the Pinetree PTA has chosen to postpone this year's awards evening until early next school year when hopefully we can gather. We look forward to all joining us then to celebrate them. But, we still want to share who was chosen as our honorees:

This year, we'll be honoring two Pinetree teachers who will be retiring from many years of dedication to our Pinetree Students, one awesome PTA Volunteer whose kiddo is her last year at Pinetree, two Pinetree staff members who went above and beyond this year and an Office Manager who's support of the Pinetree PTA and the school is always so appreciated.

For her seven years of dedication to the Pinetree PTA in too many positions to count including two years as Madam President

Kristie Cooper – Very Special Person Award

For her continuing support of the Pinetree PTA and being an Amazing Office Manager at Pinetree

Not only being a great Pinetree staff member but also for her countless hours of dedication and support to the Tick Fire Families this school year including using her business space to be a donation center for the families

Pinetree Spring Carnival - Refund Process
Due to the school closure, we sadly had to cancel the Pinetree Spring Carnival. If you pre-purchased a wristband via debit/credit card, we have refunded your purchase to your original form of payment. If you pre-purchased your wristband via cash/check, please reach out to us at pinetreepta@pinetreepta.org so we can arrange a refund.

We greatly appreciate your support and we look forward to bringing the carnival back next school year.

Box Tops to Support Pinetree PTA

During this time, you can still support the Pinetree PTA by continuing to scan your store receipts on the official box tops app and contributing them to Pinetree Community School. We greatly appreciate your support.

There are some BIG changes happening to one of the easiest ways to raise money for Pinetree School. For every Box Top that is turned in, Pinetree earns 10 cents. They add up, and already this year, we have collected $765 for our students. However, how you collect Box Tops has changed this year…it has gone digital!

Box Tops is slowly transitioning to no longer printing Box Tops on the packaging of products, that is why it is so important to download the app and start scanning. However, until then, please keep clipping and sending any Box Tops that you may find. We will be earning money for Pinetree both ways. We suggest anytime you go food shopping, go ahead and scan that receipt in the app. The app will look at each of the items and do the work for you to see if any of the items qualify for a box top and automatically contribute it to Pinetree. Please note you have to scan the receipt within 14 days of the purchase.
