First of all - THANK YOU - so much to our customers, community and Patreon supporters in this time. It's been a tough, scary ride for small business and social enterprise, but with your support we're determined to keep providing Living Wages to Londoners who need them most, especially after the pandemic.
Our cut and sew (any dresses, blouses, skirts) are still paused for now, as it's not safe for our seamstresses to return to work.
Our t-shirts, however, are slowly going back into production. We have a bunch of blanks ordered before the crisis, and Mona is working to embroider them, alone, in her workshop.
Our brilliant warehouse - Mail Out - have started to ship orders again, but with two, socially distanced members of head office staff from the charity itself. The trainees are still at home, as their health issues make them still vulnerable to the virus.
Our head office team is still on furlough, but do get in touch on our customer service WhatsApp for immediate questions, or support@birdsong.london where we'll get back to you when we can.
Thank you so much ❤️
"I am so humble with your generosity. I only did my work and got paid for it. I am lost for words." - Mona
TLDR: Expect t-shirts, jewellery, and knitted cardigans to be sent out soon. Cut and sew - you'll still have to wait a little while but it will be so worth it. You can still support our Patreon to keep us going, also.
Your order will provide Living Wage work for our local makers from low-income backgrounds, and our packing facility which trains and employs people with learning disabilities.
Our makers and warehouse are particularly vulnerable at this time, and will benefit massively from your support. Knowing they have to work to get back to, when all of this is over, means the world to them.
We hope to resume producing and shipping out your orders as soon as it is safe for all involved. Thank you so much for your understanding.
