CYMC Virtual Masterclasses are here!

Join CYMC’s new virtual masterclass sessions this summer! These programs will provide classical and jazz musicians with an unparalleled opportunity to learn from world-class musicians and gain a head start this summer. All classes will be delivered virtually through Zoom.

Classical Masterclasses

From June 29th – July 10th, CYMC will provide the opportunity to engage in classical masterclass sessions with the topic chosen by the instructors. The sessions will run daily from 10 am-noon.

Violin or Cello Program: $50

Flute or Clarinet Program: $35

Piano Performance

June 29 – July 3, mornings

The daily schedule will consist of a series of 45-minute masterclasses, open to attendance by students or teachers on the Zoom platform. Students with an RCM level of 6 and up may sign up to play for these classes. Topics will be led by students’ need and might consist of repertoire refinement, technical work, sight-reading, memorization, etc.

Music Theory

June 29 – July 3, early afternoons

Dr. Calitz will present daily 45-minute classes on specified music theory topics, ideally including time for questions.

Piano Performance:$60
Music Theory: $20
Piano and Theory: $80

Cory Weeds (Vancouver)– Music Business Masterclass and Saxophone

Ryan Oliver (Victoria) – Saxophone and flute
Brad Turner (Vancouver) – trumpet

From July 12-18, our incredible faculty will present a series of daily online masterclasses on Zoom with some of the top musicians and educators on the scene today.

Though the COVID pandemic has made it impossible to run our usual in-person camp, we are excited to give students and professionals alike an opportunity to attend online masterclasses with a faculty from New York, Vancouver and Toronto that would not otherwise be available to us! The registration fee is just $50 to attend the week camp! Any materials the instructors wish to provide will be sent to students ahead of the camp.
