Good evening Whānau,
I am keen to announce that I have employed a new teacher to take over from Richard Sheehan, as he is due to finish with us at the end of the week. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for the efforts he has put into his role here at SWIS and for being a key member of the Leadership Team. All the best Richard for your exciting new job.
The Senior Leadership Team and I undertook the recruitment process, which culminated in interviewing several potential candidates, last week. It was a particularly strong field of applicants. As a result of this process, I am pleased to announce that Sam Wilson will be starting with us on June 22nd. This weekend Sam and his family will be moving to Wellington and he will spend next week finding accommodation and settling into Wellington. While he is making the move to our wonderful city, we have employed a reliever who will be with us for the week while we transition from Richard to Sam as the classroom teacher.
Sam is an experienced New Zealand trained teacher who has recently been working in China. He and his family moved back to NZ just before the borders closed and he has been looking for a teaching position in Wellington.
Sam has strengths in Physical Education, Te reo and is keen to be involved in teaching the Digital Technolgy curriculum to our students. He previously was a member of the New Zealand Police and has also represented our country in sprinting.
We are excited to have Sam join our team!
