How can flood data be more useful?

Experimental Partnership 2020

In emergency flood disasters, what information is needed from scientists? How should data be presented and within what timeframe? How can flood data be more useful? aims to gain a deeper understanding of organisations’ flood data needs, in order to produce more useable science.

The researchers are engaging with global stakeholders to inform and test flood data design principles and develop sample flood data maps. V iew an interactive demo of the map here, or find out more about the project and who is involved.

Reimagining Diary

Experimental Partnership 2019

Can diary writing improve wellbeing? Is it time to "reimagine" the diary? Are there ways for busy people to engage in diary writing? Reimagining the Diary: Writing and well-being for busy people looks at the past, present and future of diary writing in relation to wellbeing. It explores ethical considerations, barriers and creative formats.

The diary toolkit has been made available for public use. The diary is designed around three stages that you complete each day: transition, activity, reflect. Click here to access the diary .

Creative Residency

Creative residence in the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol.

CREATE-REACT is working with the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol to engage audiences with mathematics through art. Funding of £15,375 for a 6 month part-time residence in the School of mathematics is available for an artist/creative to work on open-ended collaborations with researchers from different mathematical discipline.

Artists/creatives of all backgrounds will be considered. There is no requirement to have a scientific background or to have worked with researchers and academics before. To apply, see the job description. All enquiries can be directed to hello@create-react.com.
