The Athletic is laying off nearly 8% of staff - It's the latest media company that's been been forced to take drastic measures to survive the economic fallout from the coronavirus. The Athletic has been particularly impacted by the loss of live sports. Axios

National TV Advertising Fell 27% in April - Standard Media Index says ad revenue for broadcast television fell 33.4% to $907 million in April, while ad revenue for cable TV fell 24.8% to $1.66 billion. Syndicated TV, however, managed to snare new ad dollars, with revenue rising 12.1% to $140.2 million. Variety

Qatar's contact tracing app exposed sensitive personal details of over one million - This incident should act as a warning to governments around the world rushing out contact tracing apps that are too often poorly designed and lack privacy. Amnesty International

India's popular BHIM payments platform reportedly leaks 7M users' data - A data leak from India’s BHIM payment app exposed personal data of 7 million Indians including addresses, scans of Aadhar IDs, and caste certificates. The Next Web

Researchers find exposed data on millions of users - TVSmiles, a Berlin-based mobile native advertising app whose users earn digital currency in exchange for engaging with branded content such as quizzes, apps and videos, has suffered a data breach. TechCrunch
