New feature in HalSail - score by helm

Many people have asked me how to allow for people who change boats during a series, such as picking a different club-owned boat for each race. Some time ago I added the guest helm field to individual results (and guest crew if required) so that you could specify that on that particular occasion the boat was sailed by someone other than the normal helm. You could do that for each race in a series, but when it came to computing the overall results it was the boat that was scored, not the helm. People tried various work-arounds, such as putting the helm name in as the sail number, but none were completely satisfactory.
Now there is a better way. You can score any series by helm as well as by boat. To see the results by helm, bring up the normal public results page and click the button in the top-left corner marked score by helm. HalSail will take the name of the person helming in each race, either the normal helm or the guest helm if there is one, and base the series results on them.
