Challenger Learning Center of Alaska is Open to the Public for Free Community Night and Offering In-Person and Virtual Camp Options
In full swing of summer and after months of homeschooling, parents are running on low, trying to find new ways to entertain and educate their children. With the State opening back up, Challenger Learning Center of Alaska (CLCA), has expanded their services to meet the current needs. A staple in our community since, July 2000, Challenger is celebrating their twentieth anniversary putting Alaskan’s STEM education and survival training first.
Kicking off the summer, Challenger is hosting a Free Community Science Night, Tuesday, June 23rd, 6pm-9pm. All ages are welcome to explore and learn with ten interactive stations offering hands on activities. Activities will be centered around Earth science principles, exploring the universe, and the solar system. This is a great opportunity to meet the new staff and ask about all their missions, workshops, academies, CSET and room rentals.
CLCA’s Summer STEM Academy is offering three virtual camps and two in-person day camps covering multiple age groups; Material Science, Forensic Science, Virtual Things That Move, Virtual to the Moon and Beyond, and a Virtual Student Exchange Bermuda STEM Academy. Make sure to register your child for some summer excitement, as deadlines are approaching fast and space is limited.
During this specific time, Challenger Learning Center of Alaska wants everyone to know although they are offering in-person events, the health and safety of the public and staff is important. All necessary precautions will be taken according to the State’s guidelines to maintain social distancing, hand sanitizer is provided, masks and gloves are not required but highly recommended to bring.
