Dear Beardsleyites

I am delighted to announce the launch of a new community resource:

The Aubrey Beardsley Library

The AB Library is a collection of digitised primary sources and open access scholarship dedicated to Aubrey Beardsley.

At the time when access to physical collections is more restricted than ever, the AB Library aims to help the artist’s enthusiasts navigate the labyrinth of online Beardsleyana. In addition to textual material, it contains links to recorded lectures, documentaries, podcasts, and films addressing Beardsley’s work, reception, and evolving afterlives.

The list of sources presented in the AB Library today is far from finalised. I welcome your suggestions of open access pieces (that is, available free of charge or institutional barriers) which need to be included in the Library. I would also love to add more organisations to the list of Partners and Kindred Souls.

I would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the inspiring line-up of recent contributors to the AB Blog, including L Kiew and Émile Herm with poetic homages as well as Ruth Smith and Simon Wilson with mini-essays on Beardsleyesque topics. If you have an idea for a post of either scholarly or creative nature, do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

And please expect more exciting news about the future of the Aubrey Beardsley Society in the coming months. We are determined to keep the Beardsley Craze aflame.

Warmest wishes during these difficult times.
