A Message from Our President
Woodinville Arts Alliance President, Carol Hook
Hi All,

I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well. This has definitely been a strange and challenging Spring for everyone. I have seen many of our WAA member artists taking advantage of their “stay at home time” to enjoy their craft and post some wonderful work on social media. Keep it up!! The art work definitely helps lift our spirits!

We have unfortunately had to cancel our Art Studio Tour for this year, but are already working on 2021 and very excited about the artists and studios we have in store for everyone. Most all the artists that were accepted for this year’s show have agreed to participate in next year’s tour.

We are also excited that we have managed to continue our Art Walks virtually! We have 11 venues and 19 artists participating. See below in our newsletter for links and additional information.

One of the most important benefits of membership is our quarterly meetings- which unfortunately had been postponed so far this year. But with restrictions lifting, we are going to try again!

This is a chance to mingle and network with fellow artists as well as learn valuable information from our guest speaker. Our next meeting which is schedule to take place at Tsuga Fine Art and Framing on July 22nd. More information below.

Lastly, we are thrilled to have our Woodinville Teen Alliance host 3 guest artists virtually. Again, please see below additional information on dates/times. This is just another way we are doing our best to try and keep our art community alive and thriving.

If you have any ideas you want to share or input, we would love to hear from you!
Woodinville Arts Alliance Virtual Art Walk

Summer 2020 Virtual Art Walk

Now that summer 2020 is upon us, and certain phases of reopening are happening, we are all hoping to get out while following social distancing guidelines. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not back to normal yet, but hopefully, that will be soon!

Traditionally, the Woodinville Arts Alliance organizes a self-guided Art Walk through Woodinville's renowned wineries and breweries, where you can partake in delicious tastings while admiring selected featured local artists' artworks. However, this year is going to be a bit different. So, we decided to bring you the Art Walk online!

Sit back, relax, and enjoy beautifully displayed pieces from passionate and talented artists from the comfort of your home. Take advantage of this unique display to potentially measure wall space in your home or home office for that piece of art that speaks to you!

Check participating business websites for phase regulation changes due to COVID-19.

Spread the word and show your patronage to local businesses and artists by posting and tagging your favorite pictures with the hashtag #WoodinvilleArtWalk on Facebook and Instagram.

Support Woodinville businesses and our artists alike!

The Summer Virtual Art Walk will be available through the end of August.

Know a teen that loves art and wants to connect with the community? The Woodinville Arts Alliance selects a group of teens who show great leadership skills each year to participate in the Woodinville Teen Arts Alliance. The teens are mentored on how to run an arts council that gives back to the community. During their year-long appointed position, they will have the opportunity to create and run a community event, learn from professional creatives in the community, and have a voice and the power to make a difference.

The council of 2019 organized and ran a professional art show, was on the radio and in the newspaper, manned a table at Celebrate Woodinville, learned from MOCapp, Juice Marketing, Woodinville Print, Molten Works, and they also learned how to create a portfolio. In 2020, the teens will have more amazing opportunities and can make it as grand as they can envision.

Our community event will be a large mural on the side of a local business. We will also schedule several local creative professionals to come in and teach the teens about a career in their field. The teens will be given the power and support needed to do additional projects and events they plan.

Deadline for application has been extended to August 1, 2020.

We look forward to seeing your application for the 2020 council!
