Summer is Here: Imagine YOUR story with the library!
Ready for some summer reading fun? Kids - from babies through fifth grade - can become even better readers (and build a lifelong love of reading!) while doing reading challenges and missions and earning badges!
Register at wigginlibrary.readsquared.com to start tracking your activities and reading. You can use the app or the website to participate.
Every activity has a point value. Once you've earned 1,000 points you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share! Points are earned by playing games, completing missions, and of course, logging your reading! You can log books, minutes, or hours.
Families who prefer to stick to more traditional Summer Reading Program protocol are more than welcome to play however they like! The Imagine Your Story BINGO Activity Sheet is available on paper to anyone who would like a copy. Simply request one with your next batch of materials to be picked up at the Wiggin Memorial Library, and we'll make sure you get it. There is no limit to the number of BINGO game sheets children can complete.
Our prizes this year are mostly virtual: the badges and patches in the online reading program are meant to be fun incentives for participating in the program. We'll be sending home keychain beading kits at the beginning of the summer; you can build your keychain right away, or you can build it hour by hour (one bead=one hour of reading).
And, on the calendar? Camptastic Crafts on Mondays (see the list here), Tech Tuesdays, and special presentations like Marine Mammal Rescue! Take a look at our online calendar to register and plan your activities!
