Partner Information Sharing and Request Form

The Information Sharing & Request Form offers a multi-agency system of sharing information with Dorset Police to help keep children and young people safe.  It should be used to provide details of any concerns about individuals or groups who pose a risk to children and young people through exploitation, targeting and abusing sexually or through other criminal means such as county line drug lines and drug supply

The form focuses specifically on the behaviours or actions of alleged, suspected or known perpetrators.   Information you share could corroborate information that is already suspected or support positive disruptive action being taken.

NEVER assume someone else has passed on the information you have. Duplicate information is better than none.

Water Safety!

As we head into Summer and with the easing of some lockdown restrictions, some of us may be thinking about a trip to the seaside.

Latest figures from the Water Incident Database (WAID), reveal that there were 223 deaths in UK waters from accidents or natural causes in 2019.   Just over one third (78) of all accidental drowning deaths happened at the coast/shore/beach, with most deaths happening in June, July and August.

If you are planning to head to the beach, make sure you understand the risks that water can hold and be prepared!

Take a look at our Water Safety Guidance. This also provides up to date information on beaches that have reinstated lifeguard patrols following COVID19.
Stop it Now!

Stop It Now! is an online service provided by The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, dedicated solely to tackling child sexual abuse.

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) we're self-isolating, social distancing and spending much more time at home. This means that if a child is experiencing abuse, there aren't as many opportunities for adults to spot the signs and help.

The confidential Stop It Now! helpline is available for anyone with concerns about child sexual abuse. Callers do not need to give identifying information, so can remain anonymous.

The Stop It Now! helpline 0808 1000 900 is open:
Mondays – Thursdays:       9am – 9pm
Fridays:                              9am – 5pm

Staying Safe Online

The UK Safer Internet Centre has lots of useful information from cyberbullying to sexting.  Their Hot Topics for teachers and professionals gives advice about the issues that are affecting young people online.

Also, take a look at their PSHE toolkit for 11-14 year olds called ‘Myth vs Reality’ tackling the topics of pornography, healthy relationships and body image.

Before the end of term, why not remind pupils and parents about where they can go for help if they have any issues online over the holidays.

Our website also provides on-line safety information for parent and children, why not take a look?
It Was Hard to Escape – Safeguarding Children at Risk from Criminal Exploitation’

The national Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel have published their first national review, entitled ‘It Was Hard to Escape – Safeguarding Children at Risk from Criminal Exploitation’.

The report aims to identify what might be done differently by practitioners to improve approaches to protecting children who find themselves threatened with violence and serious harm by criminal gangs.

Research indicates that young babies are particularly vulnerable to abuse, but work carried out by professionals in the antenatal period can help minimise harm if there is early assessment, intervention and support.

The agencies most often involved in these responses will be Midwifery, Children’s Services, Adult Services and Health Visiting Services and the purpose of the protocol is to ensure that a clear system is in place for a multi-agency response to concerns.
