BLACK LIVES MATTER:
A STATEMENT FROM THE COLLEGE
In the wake of the murder of George Floyd in the USA, communities around the world are coming together under the Black Lives Matter banner. Churchill College recognizes the work we need to do to create such an environment where racism has no home, and in the months ahead will be embracing a wide-ranging set of initiatives and activities, building on the considerable ongoing work in this arena (such as in widening participation). We will also examine the wealth of material in the Archives Centre in an ongoing critical dialogue about our Founder and his legacy in international history, in order to examine systemic racism in our global society.

JIM CAMERON RIP
The College was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Boatman (of 35 years!) Jim Cameron on 11 June. Many Boat Club members will remember him fondly. A full obituary will be published on our website shortly, and a memorial event is planned next year when we celebrate 60 years of CCBC. Our thoughts are with his wife Brenda.

RESCHEDULING EVENTS
The Alumni Office is particularly sad that due to the current crisis, we have had to postpone a raft of reunion events – we always look forward to welcoming our alumni back to College, and reunion dinners are such joyful gatherings. We had hoped to postpone dinners for alumni who matriculated in 1960–65, 1988–92 and 1970 until September, but it seems unlikely we will be able to go ahead with formal dining by then. We would like to reassure all the alumni from those years that they will not miss out on their dinner and we can't wait to see them again when we can dine enjoyably. We will be in touch with new dates as soon as we are able.
Alumni from all years may have seen that the University is holding its Alumni Festival (which coincides with our Association Weekend) entirely online this year. Unfortunately it is unlikely that we will be able to host our Weekend and annual dinner as usual, but we do hope to offer an online talk. More information to follow.

STAY PART OF IT!
Although we can't hold live alumni events right now, there are plenty of ways to network with other Churchillians virtually, something we see as being more valuable than ever. Here are a few ways you can stay connected:
- ChurchillConnect
Grow your network to find a new job; help our new graduates by offering careers mentorship/advice or sharing employment opportunities; or catch up with old College friends. Read more about our free and ad-free networking site for Churchill members only.
- Churchill Business Network
Let us know if you'd like to join our mailing list to hear about future events of general and industry sector interest, especially with any ideas for a topic for a virtual panel discussion. Find out more about the CBN.
- LinkedIn Group
In addition the main Churchill College LinkedIn page, we also have a private group for alumni. We use this to advertise events such as those in the Business Network series, that are for Churchill members and not the general public.
You can also keep up with all things Churchill on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
