To: Members of Gujarati Mandal of Calgary
On January 24, 2020 at a Special General Meeting, the revised By-Laws of the Mandal were presented and approved by a Special Resolution. Service Alberta has reviewed and responded with one change related to audited financial statements. The by-laws approved on January 24, 2020 included a provision for a “review” of financial statements that is not acceptable under current statutes of Alberta.
The revised by-laws are available on the Mandal’s website [Click here]. Changes are made to Clauses 38, 39, and 41 where the references to “reviewed” are removed so the by-laws are compliant with Alberta regulations. All other clauses remain unchanged and have been approved at the January 24, 2020 special general meeting.
Under current Covid-19 circumstances, an in-person meeting is not feasible; therefore, a Special General Meeting will be held online on June 23, 2020 at 7:00 pm where your approval of the proposed by-laws will be sought. Details of the online Zoom meeting are as follows:
