Insights from the 2nd edition of the CASE-CCAE Support of Education Survey, Canada
Thank you to the 45 participating institutions of the 2nd edition of the CASE-CCAE Support of Education Survey, Canada. The data analysis is now complete, and the final report is available online.  CCAE is very grateful for the exceptional collaboration on this project with CASE.

Findings show a 26% increase from 2018 to 2019 in funds contributed to Canadian colleges, institutes, and universities.  This growth should be celebrated, reflecting both effective fundraising and deepened donor confidence and commitment.

Further, participating institutions secured over $1.7 billion for student financial aid, research, faculty support and other critical purposes.  Continuing, and even increasing, this level of private support will be of greater importance than ever in the year ahead.

The 3rd edition of the survey will start in July 2020. CCAE hopes your institution will participate and support this important endeavor for the Canadian education philanthropic sector. For more information and to learn how to get involved visit ccaecanada.org.

Ending the silence, the unequivocal support of change in Canada

Educational institutions have a priority to be at the forefront of changes in society. The work CCAE member institutions do is always important, but at this time with great unrest globally, and gaps of inequities still prominent in Canada, it is our duty as leaders to ensure we surpass the status quo. It is time to act on systemic racism and all facets of human rights regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation and gender.

We have a lot to do.

CCAE’s strategic plan includes the development of programs and services that are inclusive, equitable and respectful. Through opportunities that promote thought-leadership and the sharing of expertise and leading conversations on best practices, and relevant issues, CCAE aims to protect diversity and freedom in every aspect of our communities. It is our commitment to ensure open dialogue is met and fostered between members, and within CCAE as an association.  In addition CCAE is dedicated to supporting our members as they seek to fulfill their roles in advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, and engaging in reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.

Member institutions across Canada are leading the dialogue and enacting change to instill diversity and inclusive communities on and off campuses. CCAE acknowledges and stands with all member institutions in their efforts. If your institution has ideas or initiatives that are making a difference regarding systemic racism, inclusion, or diversity, please share them with CCAE so we can broaden the reach of viable solutions and dialogue.
