Food Security and Summer Produce at the Farm Stand

We know vulnerable community members are disproportionately impacted by the current COVID-19 pandemic. Many continue to find themselves unemployed and are having to choose between paying for food, medicine, housing, and other basic needs.

We have learned the following from nearly 450 surveyed Farm Stand beneficiaries:
  • Nearly 75% have reduced income, or have been furloughed or laid off
  • More than half have experienced challenges accessing fresh food
  • Despite high need, fewer than 15% receive CalFresh EBT assistance
  • Customers come to us from as far away as Chula Vista, Escondido, Santee, and even Temecula
We are so grateful for the community support that has awarded us the opportunity to continue our Organic Food Distribution Program through this time, reaching low-income seniors and families, active-duty military and veterans, immigrants, Holocaust survivors, home-bound, elder Native American tribal families, and the general community.

Drop by the Farm Stand tomorrow (Thursday) between 12pm and 3pm or Sunday between 10am and 3pm for your favorite summer treats: eggplant, walla walla onions, green beans, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, and more!

We Love our Corporate Partners!
We wouldn't be able to nourish community through organic food distribution, hands-on learning experiences for schools and groups, and opportunities to engage in Jewish life without the generous support of our Corporate Partners.

We are so grateful to each of these partners for supporting the Farm's impact:
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely on your generosity and partnership to cultivate healthy, connected communities. Your tax-deductible donation helps us nourish the community, ensure access to hands-on learning experiences for schools and groups, offer community programs and events for people of all backgrounds, and provide fresh food to those who need it most.
