The Hanover Flash

Wilmington, Delaware

Sunday, June 28, 202o

This Sunday our time of worship will include a treasure hunt filled with exposes, a lesson from St. Augustine, a heart healthy check, and a celebration of all the new things that are springing forth in our midst.

In our time together, we will dig into our own perceptions as we seek to answer the prophet's question: do you not perceive it? Together, we will challenge ourselves to recognize the often invisible sources of power that cause new things to spring forth.

As per our pattern, we will send out the YouTube link to the service on Saturday evening. If you would like to receive these services, call the church office to have Twyla add you to the distribution list.

May your days be filled with grace that abounds, and light that shines with hope and...

Peace,
Andy
The "Reopening" Plan

Dear Hanover Saints,
With great gratitude to the Session and Worship Committee, the plans to gather for worship in the sanctuary continue to take form and shape. For the Sunday services up through July 19, we will continue to record and send them out on Saturday nights. Barring any developments that would make it unsafe, we are planning to worship together in person again on Sunday, July 26.

In the time leading up to the day of our reunion, we will be communicating the details so that we will all have a sense of what we can expect.  Given all of the precautions, it will be a service unlike any we have seen before. And yet the grace and blessings of God will prevail!

May you continue to receive God’s presence in each of your days and places, and may you be blessed with deep and abiding faith and hope…and patience. Let us wait in…
Peace,
Andy

What difference will a vaccine make?

High Noon at Hanover
for July 1, 2020

Let us pray together the (full) Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as God did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that God will make all things right
if I surrender to God's Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with God
forever in the next.

Amen.

Family Promise of Northern New Castle County continues to serve our families experiencing homelessness this summer.  Even though our rotational network is temporarily closed due to the pandemic, Family Promise is assisting these families at their Hospitality House location.  We can help Family Promise now by fundraising through the Highmark Virtual Walk for a Healthy Community.

A "VIRTUAL" JEREMIAH'S COFFEEHOUSE!
This talent call is going out to everyone - we'd like to have a "virtual" Jeremiah's Coffee House!  If you have something to share - musical, poetry, a story, a craft - anything - take a short recording of it and send it in to the Church Office at: churchadmin@hanoverchurch.org.  Once we gather our recordings, we'll have Tom Davis work his magic on them, and make them into a "virtual" coffeehouse.
