Membership in the Village Community Association (VCA)

JoinHave your renewed your membership or joined the VCA yet?
Our enrolment numbers are down – largely because many people usually renew at the Annual General Meeting in April.  But not this year.   No meeting – no renewals - so we are again reminding Village residents that we continue to work for you and rely on your yearly membership ($30 per household) to keep us ”afloat”.
Please join or renew on-line then either etransfer the money to InformationVCA@gmail.com or drop off a cheque to Randy Churchill, our Membership Co-Ordinator, at 41 Brock Street.
Sign up here.
Thanks to those residents who have already done this.  We appreciate your support.

P.S.  Are you planing your Canada Day decorations?

Phase Two reopening in Niagara – what’s that mean for you?

  • Yes – you can get a haircut.  No – you can’t get a facial.
haircutI think for many in The Village this means very little – we will continue to stay home and avoid going into Old Town on weekends.  The town will be getting busier!
The Ontario government has a detailed plan for Phase Two reopening for Niagara Region starting Friday, June 19.  Here’s what we can and can’t do.

Social Bubble of 10 – but circle of more?  What are the rules?

Where and how to get tested for COVID-19

Anyone can get a test – just phone to book an appointment.  They will also take walk-ins – but you may wait in your car until a spot is available.   So phone ahead.
COVID-19 Assessment Centre info

“I was tested at St Catharines Hospital in the southern parking area– very smooth process, well organized and painless.  I never left my car and was on my way in 15 minutes after a short wait.”  Sue Henry

Remember – Cash always works as a donation as well.  Please add that you are a VCA member if you make a financial donation.  It will be nice to see how many of our neighbours contribute to this local worthy cause.  Thanks!

Shopping tip!

small scale farmsDid you know you can pick up a box of fresh local vegetables from Small Scale Farms in Lundy's Lane, in Thorold, each week?  Plus Eggs and breads? Direct from the farm.  I just found them at the Farmer’s Market last Saturday.   Check them out.  They do lots of good things!
