We are still in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the good news is as infection numbers are dropping some elective (hand) surgery is re-starting (providing we don't get a new wave of infection). You probably need to self isolate for 1-2 weeks before, you may need to have a Covid test done, but operations are possible again in many areas.

The Dupuytren Conference has been re-arranged for Sept. 2021, due to the present pandemic.
The location will be the same, Oxford University.

I (Anna) have started trying out new technology, and did a Teams meeting with a few other patients. It went reasonably well, technology co-operated so I will be doing it again.

If you want to be part of this let me know, so I can send you an email with a proposed date and time, and send a link to the meeting just before we start.

We have produced a video on radiotherapy for Dupuytren's and Ledderhose, with special thanks to Dr Richard Shaffer for giving his time and expertise for this, and to Mr Ian Ireland for the expert editing of the video. It can be viewed on our  YouTube  channel.

AND WE HAVE MORE TO SHOW YOU.................

WHAT CAN I DO
HOW BAD WILL IT GET
WHO CAN I TRUST

Special thanks to Eleanor Shakiba whose idea this was, and who spend long ours working on these videos. Thanks to Ian Ireland for editing and re-editing! And thank you to everyone who assisted by being interviewed and giving their time and sharing their experiences.  (Ms Deb Tudge, Ms Karen Middlemiss, Ms Brandy Leigh Scott, Dr Shaffer, Dr Eaton, Prof Furniss, Mr Ian Ireland, Ms Eleanor Shakiba and Ms Anna Schurer)

And a big Thank You to Prof Ralph who produced this  VIDEO  for us, explaining the different types of surgery possible for Peyronie's. We have some great trustees!

_______________________________________________________

Prof Furniss has produced a poster about the possible effects of our Dupuytren's Genes on the rest of our body and our life. The take home message is we are at higher risk of developing life threatening conditions 12 years after diagnosis, so we have 12 years to start living healthier and ward off these diseases. So eat and drink in moderation and varied foodstuffs, exercise when you can. Look after your body, not just your hands!

And finally:

If you can offer some time to help our charity with anything please contact me. If you are a Teams whizz I can use your help, same if you are familiar with Elementor or WordPress for web-design.

We can always use more personal stories for the website, especially for Ledderhose, Frozen Shoulder and Peyronie's. The stories can be as long and in-depth as you feel comfortable.
