Invitation to ULRHS Gardeners’ Question Time
--------------------------------------------
Wednesday 24 June, 7.30-8.30pm – please join online from 7.15pm

Dear member

The coronavirus is keeping us all apart for far too long. So we’ve decided to bring members together for our own version of Gardeners’ Question Time using Zoom, an online videoconference tool.

Our GQT will be hosted and chaired by Alan Vian. Our panellists to answer your questions will be Jenny Harding, Sue Taylor, Lynne Vian and Guy Woodhouse.

* Jenny describes herself as an accidental nursery woman with a good general knowledge of most areas. She gardens with nature and wildlife in mind, which means minimal mowing, cutting back and weeding.

* Sue's main interest is hardy plants and shrubs for year-round colour, interest and fragrance. Sue has experience of garden renovation, having spent the last two years developing her own garden which hadn’t been tended for over 30 years.

* Guy is a professional gardener, maintaining gardens such as South Wood Farm near Cotleigh, an Arne Maynard-designed garden. He is interested in The New Perennial/Dutch Wave sustainable planting style and is currently trialling perennials and bulbs to naturalise in a meadow setting. Guy is a practitioner of topiary, as well as training fruit trees as fans, espalier, cordons and pyramids.

* Lynne is an enthusiastic, practical gardener with a 'cottage style' garden and an interest in fuchsias. She is a 'weeder' at Burrow Farm Gardens - a buttercup specialist! Lynne is interested in children's gardening and currently raises money for an education charity in Malawi by selling plants on her doorstep.

You will need to register by 5pm on Tuesday 23rd June for the event at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMlc-2rqz0oEteseONw7xL78NE9AaRwNidp.

You will then receive a link from Alan Vian with the link for the full meeting. This meeting is only for ULRHS members and those who subscribe to our mailing list. Please do not forward this invitation to anyone else.

Your gardening questions will be vital to make this go with a swing so please send these in advance to tricia@thegardenersblacksmith.co.uk

When you join the meeting, everyone will be muted and the only video screens displayed will be those of the chairman and panellists.

If you’ve not used Zoom before, don’t worry. We’ll be running a brief induction session on Tuesday 23rd June to make sure you’re familiar with the screen layout and how it works. If you would like to join this, please email tricia@thegardenersblacksmith.co.uk as soon as possible.

This is our first go at such a meeting so it could be entertaining! Do come and join the fun as well as learning from our knowledgeable panellists.
