Beetroot-iful Beetroot

Every year Sharon manages to grow the most perfect beetroot on the farm. We sell it bunched and then later in the year, when we have more time and the tops are less beautiful, we sell it cooked. It is so simple to cook beetroot and it's such a stunning  vegetable. Just twist off the tops, rinse and pop into a pan of boiling water for 30 mins to an hour, until soft. When they are cool the skins just slip off. You can also roast them in tin foil in the oven or grate raw beetroot into a salad.
Beetroot can be eaten hot or cold, as they are, or dressed with vinaigrette. Add caraway seeds or slice and add to a cheese sandwich on fresh, white bread. And don't forget you can eat the tops too!

Easybean

Easybean is based on a farm in Somerset and, as it's name implies, is a brand based on beans. The Chickpea Crispbreads are the most delicious crackers out there and are a UK first - using chickpea flour they are naturally gluten-free, wheat-free, high in fibre and suitable for vegetarians. There are six flavours (pictured) and are great for dunking in dips, covering in cheese or just eating on their own. 
We also sell Easybean's range of crackers (Fava Bean & Poppy Seed, Green Pea & Chia Seed, and Red Lentil & Poppy Seed) and their range of One Pot Meals

What you said...

Thank you for the overwhelmingly positive response to the survey we sent out last week. You came up with some great ideas, including more photos of the shop and crops, more information about the fresh produce we sell (we are trying to keep a list of the greengrocery we sell up to date on our website but collating a full product book online has beaten us at the moment!), and more recipes. You are also interested to find out about the farm's history, our great team of staff and our local customers so I will do my best to include some or all of those over the next few weeks.
