The Cal-SOAP Connection

Cal-SOAP Peer Advisors & Tutors

Congratualtions to our 2020 Graduates!!

Thank you Peer Advisors and Tutors of the Class of 2020!

Cal-SOAP Tutoring

This season, our Cal-SOAP Tutors expressed great flexibility and understanding in transitioning to tutoring via online platforms due to the current global situation. Around 200 junior high and high school students extending out to Ventura, Lompoc and Santa Maria were served totaling over 700 hours of tutoring services. We are proud of our tutors and congratulate those who participated and those who have graduated and we look forward to your future developments!
Thank you and great work tutors!

Financial Aid Presentations

Even remotely, Cal-SOAP staff was given the opportunity to host a Financial Aid Presentation for Olive Grove Charter School in May to assist Juniors with information on the importance of receiving financial aid for postsecondary education. Additionally, the Financial Aid Presentation is now available through our social media as a means to make it more accessible for students who could not participate this season.

Virtual Resources

In order to continuously provide support and information to our community and partners, Cal-SOAP has made an effort to maximize our virtual resources through video communication platforms, online spaces, our website and social media. Check out our Resources page for more information on our services offered. We will continue to host financial aid, tutoring and other educational services remotely throughout the summer.

Partner Spotlight

Carpinteria Unified School District

Throughout the transition to online programming, Cal-SOAP received the continued support of the Carpinteria school district in allowing us to cooperate and give opportunities for tutoring and financial aid services. We commend the principal, Mrs. O’Shea, as well as Ms. Stahl, Mrs. Castagna, Ms. McCulley and all other participating teachers at Carpinteria Middle School for welcoming and assisting us in providing collaboration between our tutors and the students.
During this unprecedented time, we thank our partners and community members who were able to collaborate with our program and events this season. Connecting with the students and parents has been made difficult but made more important than ever in providing services and assistance. We look forward to continue to offer our support throughout the community. Thank you!
