Thomas Aquinas College
Dear Friend,

Ours is a world which increasingly insists that faith and reason are incompatible: You can trust in science and rational discourse, or you can believe in God and the teachings of His church, but certainly not both.

At Thomas Aquinas College, we not only reject that claim, we refute it — every day.

Our students spend four years studying natural science and mathematics by reading the great authors of their fields: from Newton to Ptolemy, from Euclid to Einstein. They also study the most influential philosophical works of Western civilization, the entirety of Sacred Scripture, key Church encyclicals, and the writings of numerous Church doctors, most notably St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Having studied, analyzed, and discussed the seminal texts in every major discipline, our graduates are prepared to defend the Faith through reason, in a way that few others can.

This is the very mission of Thomas Aquinas College, as expressed by our motto, Fides Quaerens Intellectum — “faith seeking understanding.” We have every confidence in the truth of revelation, and we yearn to understand it better, so as to love God more fully and share His truth with others.

Today marks the first day of Thomas Aquinas College’s Week of Giving, an annual opportunity for friends to support the College in its defense of faith and reason. And this year, thanks to the generous support of one such friend, Dr. Melissa Buckley, the opportunity is even greater, as all gifts made this week will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $350,000 total.

The Week has only just begun, yet friends of the College have already given $80,302 for our Annual Fund. To all those who have given, thank you! To those who have yet to give, would you please make a gift now?

To live a life of faith seeking understanding is a high calling, one which our faculty and students strive each day to uphold. Do you share this calling? Do you believe that faith and reason go hand in hand? Do you agree that our world needs leaders who recognize this truth and are willing and able to defend it — in the home, in the workplace, and in the public square?

If so, then I encourage you to join us in this year’s Week of Giving so that your gift — and the good it can achieve — may be doubled.

Make a Gift Now!
Sincerely,

Matthew Plaisted
Director of Annual Giving
