Food Drive/Community Support/Racial Justice

Throughout the month of June, PPUMC is hosting a food drive to support Glendale Food Shelf, operated by East Side Neighborhood Services. Through today's upheaval and uncertainty, we are a vital part of the rebuilding, recovery and healing process. To contribute, please write a check with ‘Glendale Food Shelf’ in the memo line; or contribute directly online at the East Side Neighborhood Services metro food programs information page by clicking HERE. Please let us know if you contribute directly - we'd like to count our full congregational donation!

You’ll also find a Racial Justice Resources page on the PPUMC website that contains a growing list of ways you can respond to the needs in the greater community according to your personal preference and capacity. You'll find the Racial Justice Resources page by clicking HERE.

Book Club: "A Good Time for the Truth"

The PPUMC Summer Book Club is now forming as we read, "A Good Time for the Truth: Race in Minnesota," edited by Sun Yung Shin. There has never been a more important time to confront the racial disparities in our state, with sixteen of Minnesota's best writers offering a range of perspectives on living in the land of 10,000 lakes as a person of color.

The book is available through local booksellers such as
Magers & Quinn or online. Book club meeting times are being determined; look for the online survey this week if interested. For questions, please reach out to Angela or A.K. Hed Vincent or Pastor Chris.

Online Small Group Activities

Online small group gatherings continue.
Consider checking one out, and if you are a regular (you know who you are!) maybe one of these days, invite a friend!

Pride Fest 2020 Virtual Parade Postponed

In solidarity with Black Lives Matter, the virtual 2020 Twin Cities Pride Parade planned for this coming weekend has been postponed to a later date. Instead, organizers are planning the, “Taking Back Pride: Justice for George Floyd March” on Sunday, June 28, starting at Loring Park. For the latest details, visit the Twin Cities Pride website at www.tcpride.org.

The people of PPUMC stand with the Minnesota Conference in rejecting the

Traditional Plan approved at General Conference 2019 as inconsistent

with the gospel message and will resist its implementation.

We remain committed to full inclusion.

LOVE GROWS HERE.
