THE MESSENGER – NEW EDITOR NEEDED
We hope to start producing the Messenger again in the autumn but a new editor for the publication is needed. The Messenger is delivered to every home in the parish and is greatly valued by the community, particularly those who find the internet difficult to access.  If you would like to know more about what is involved in this vital role in the community please contact the current editor Liz Hodge on 01939-291030 or hodgeliz@btinternet.com

Reopening
St Peter’s Church Myddle will be open for private prayer twice a week for two hours, Thursday’s and Sunday’s. Times are as follows:
Starting Thursday 18th June 10.30 - 12.30 pm
Sunday 21st June 2.30 - 4.30 pm.
The church will be manned by church volunteers. All the social distancing rules will apply. This will continue untill further notice. Many thanks.

A number of people are concerned about scammers contacting them by phone calls related to test and trace.
NHS test and trace - fraud awareness
If NHS Test and Trace calls you by phone, the service will be using a single phone number 0300 0135 000. The only website the service will ask you to visit is https://contact-tracing.phe.gov.uk/

REAL CONTACT TRACERS WILL NEVER DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
• Ask you to dial a premium rate number to speak to us (for example, those starting 09 or 087)
• Ask you to make any form of payment
• Ask for any details about your bank account
• Ask for your social media identities or login details, or those of your contacts
• Ask you for any passwords or PINs, or ask you to set up any passwords or PINs over the phone
• Ask you to purchase a product
• Ask you to download any software to your device or ask you to hand over control of your PC, smartphone or tablet
• Ask you to access any website that does not belong to the Government or NHS

If you think you have been subjected to, or a victim of, a scam or attempted fraud using Track and Trace or any other fraud please call 101 or contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or risk of
harm dial 999 now.

Click on this link to see how you can verify you are actually being contacted by the government’s Test and Trace service.

Advice for walkers and runners on footpaths crossing fields with cattle in them.

Reminder
Unless the landowner permits it, cycling on a footpath in England and Wales normally constitutes trespass, making it a civil but not a criminal matter. Much of our local woodland has a number of Permissive Paths allowed by the land owners who are concerned by the number of mountain bikes who are on their land and causing damage to the tracks and the environment.

Computers and Technology.
We are now so dependant on technology to communicate with families, friends and shops during this crisis. For this reason Colin Ruck has offered to assist and advise anyone within the parish who is having IT problems or just wants to install Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom, Facebook, etc.
Many problems can be sorted out without an on site visit. Please call him 07906622133 or 291436 for this FREE SERVICE during this crisis! Also if you have a computer or laptop you are prepared to donate to help somebody out in the parish please let Colin know.

You are reminded that any member of the public can click into the Shropshire Council Planning Portal and view current and past planning for any area in Shropshire and add your own comments.
The Parish Council is notified when an application has been made for development within the parish and all the plans, designs and design statements are then available for the public to view and comment on. The Parish Council makes an agreed comment on the proposal. The usual time allowed for comments is 28 days from the validation date. The planning department in Shirehall then makes a decision based on any comments and planning law.
