On Tuesday, July 7, the Church celebrates the Nativity (birth) of Saint John the Baptist. This is also the Patronal Feastday of our parish, since our community was dedicated specifically to this event in the life of Saint John.
We will celebrate the Feast starting with Great Vespers on Monday, July 6, at 7pm and Divine Liturgy on July 7 at 9am.
Keeping in mind the current restrictions due to the quarantine, we would still like to have a potluck coffee hour after the Liturgy. Weather-permitting, we will have it outside, in the rectory's backyard.
Everyone is invited to attend the Liturgy, and if able and willing, to bring something for the potluck. We will also need two volunteers to handle the coffee and food in gloves.
Please respond to this email if you are planning to bring anything.
As was announced during the week, we are beginning an online Book Study group. If you have already responded, you do not have to do anything else. If you would like to join, please respond to this email. You may join at any point.
Father Aleksey with his family will be away June 27-July 1. For this reason there will be no services on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, and Tuesday, June 30.
Normally, we would invite a substitute priest, but these are not so normal of times. Therefore, it would be safer to have no services in church.
We will be back to our regular schedule beginning with July 4 Great Vespers.
If you would like to attend services this weekend, June 20-21, there is still space available. Click on the above image for the signup form.
Live-streaming of the services will continue for the time being on our Youtube channel.
God bless!
Yours in the Lord,
Father Aleksey
